About YIC:

Yemen Information Center (YIC) is an independent and non-partisan research and media center established in 2020. It seeks to advance knowledge on topics of sustainable peace and hope in Yemen, including rigorous information in the areas of coexistence and reconciliation for the people of Yemen and their communities abroad.

The core mission of YIC is to provide the international and Yemeni communities, officials, and stakeholders working on Yemen with reliable information, news, research updates and access to Yemeni resources worldwide. It emphasizes the urgency and need for hope, and the opportunity to engage in de-escalation, peace building, and post-conflict planning while cultivating efforts towards coexistence, social cohesion, and tolerance in Yemen.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Conducting studies, research and working papers in accordance with YIC's operational plans, in addition to preparing scientific reports on results of these studies and research.

  2. Collecting and analyzing data, conducting surveys, and employing various sampling methods.

  3. Supervising and participating in field surveys, as well as collecting information related to studies and research in coordination with the Centre’s different departments and units.

  4. Coordinating scientific research projects with the working and interested parties on the Centre’s areas of interest and in light of the work plans approved by YIC leadership.

  5. Participating in local, international conferences and seminars in accordance with the needs of the Center and after the approval of the Center's leadership.

  6. Commitment to directives and decisions made by the Center's leadership.

  7. Carrying out any tasks assigned by the Center's leadership.



  1. A master’s degree in the field of (political science- peace and conflict resolution - development - and related fields).

  2. Previous research experience (highly preferred)


  1. In-depth knowledge of academic writing styles and scientific research methods.

  2. Good knowledge of publication requirements in scientific journals and of intellectual property rights

  3. Research and analytical skills

  4. Ability to prioritize and carry out tasks on time and under time pressure.

  5. Computer Skills

  6. Accuracy promotes your personal and professional development.

  7. Proficiency and accuracy in work.

  9. Professional capabilities related to the field of research
